Sing a Song of Portland

Portland has long been a haven for musicians and music fans, from The Kingsmen to Y La Bamba with some pretty great bands in between (Dead Moon, The Dandy Warhols, Richmond Fontaine, The Decemberists to name a few). Hear the fascinating stories behind Portland’s internationally renowned music scene and sing about it, out loud on the street!!

Along the way, we’ll visit the rock clubs, record labels and music stores that shaped Portland’s musical past and present— stories of where Courtney met Kurt, how an internet forum gave birth to Portland’s largest free music festival, where a Motown drumming legend performs in Portland every week and how music in Portland has fought issues of social justice.

We’ll be singing songs like “Louie, Louie” and “Hey, Eugene” in a big people’s chorus!

History will come alive as our troubadour tour guide leads the group in sing-alongs that pay tribute to some of the best artists and songs ever to come out of the Rose City. Don’t worry – we’ll teach you the words!

Tour Highlights:
