Prepare for the long winter with a bus trip highlighting the Northwest’s rich logging history. The tour begins with a stop at the Stimson Lumber mill to meet with the plant manager and learn about the history of harvesting techniques, logging equipment and environmental policy. We’ll then visit Tillamook Forest Center, the region’s largest forest-based learning center and outdoor classroom facility. The day concludes with every logger’s favorite – a visit to Camp 18 Restaurant, for a tour of their logging museum and dinner conversation with Brian Booth, author of Wildmen, Wobblies & Whistlepunks: Stewart Holbrook’s Lowbrow Northwest (OSU Press, 1992).
