Our staff of 1.5 people can only do so much, and we occasionally call on volunteers to help us with some of the day-to-day legwork of our operations. We have a few projects coming up at DPC HQ and we could really use a hand. Please let us know if you can help with any of the following activities and which you may be most interested in.
1. Voices of Portland program
We need a volunteer to go through a series of oral histories tapes from 1976 at Oregon Historical Society. Volunteer needs to be available during library hours (open Thurs, Fri and Sat 1PM-5PM). Selected clips will be used for promotional video (needed in next two weeks), with extended clips played at Voices of Portland program, May 26th. This is probably a 5-10 hour job.
2. Voices of Portland poster help
We need help distributing posters for our next lecture, Voices of Portland, May 26th. We have 250 of ‘em (pictured above), so there’s plenty to go around. This will take a few hours to take a section of Portland and cover it thoroughly. You can pick up posters from our downtown offices Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM.
3. Publications collating
We could use help collating and stapling comics and putting together the last of the Northwest Passage books. Should be done at our office, M-F 9AM-5PM.
If you are interested in volunteering for any of these opportunities, send a quick e-mail with your name and phone # to: firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll get you started right away. We sincerely appreciate your interest and help!
