DPC is getting close to the release of two new publications – a pair of posters using graphic design to illustrate public policies and empower citizens to take action. The posters – 5,000 of which will be printed on newspaper – will be distributed for free at libraries and other public locations.
The first poster to be released is one we’ve been working on with staff at We are Oregon and artist Jesse Reklaw. Taken from real life stories, this poster provides information on what to do when faced with a home foreclosure or if you are struggling to defend your home in the event of an eviction. The authors have collected information from families and neighbors in Portland. Check out some rough drafts from Jesse after the cut!
The second poster will be produced in partnership with the Mental Health Association of Portland and artist Amy Martin. It provides a step-by-step guide on how to stop suicide. The guide provides a resource guide on how to help someone in crisis. More updates soon!
