pledge your support for tom mccall & the oregon vortex

Last Friday, we launched our newest Kickstarter campaign, Tom McCall & the Oregon VortexThe biographical comic celebrates former Oregon governor Tom McCall and his contributions to Portland and Oregon, and is written by reporter Sarah Mirk and illustrated by artist Daniel Duford.

We’re using Kickstarter to raise the money to make the project possible. Kickstarter is an all-of-nothing platform that enables organizations to raise capital for cultural projects by offering incentives for financial support. The project is off to a good start – over the weekend we raised 10% of our costs. But we need your help to reach our goal…pledge your support now.

As a small nonprofit organization, these campaigns are hugely important to making our programs possible. With your help, we’ll be able to not only produce 750 copies of this comic, we’ll also give it away free as a PDF on our website…and, more importantly, we’ll develop educational curricula to engage youth in learning about this important piece of our state’s history.

There are many incentives, tailored for all income levels. For just $25 you can get a copy of the printed comic mailed to your door, while at $100 you can get a tour to Estacada (the site of McCall infamous Oregon Vortex rock festival). Look for more info about incentives to be posted in the coming days.

Help us by spreading the word. Share the video above or link (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dillpickleclub/tom-mccall-and-the-oregon-vortex/) with all of your friends on Facebook or Twitter. We have just two weeks to raise $2,500. Thanks for your support, and for being a part of this vital community project!
